Mark’s full name was Mark Elliot Zuckerberg. Born May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York. He was the second of four children of his father. He was also the only son in the family. Mark’s father name was Edward Zuckerberg and he was a dentist. Mark’s mother named Karen Zuckerberg is a psychiatrist.
His father ran a dental practice attached to the family house and he was raised in the nearby village of Dobbs Ferry.
Mark Zuckerberg was a tech lover from an early age. From his childhood, he loves experimenting with his tech gadgets. When he was hardly 12 years of age, with the use of Atari BASIC he developed a messaging program. He named it ‘Zucknet’. His program used this program at his office. The program helped the receptionist in the office to inform about a new patient without yelling across the rooms.

On February 04, 2004 Mark registered a domain i.e TheFacebook.com. Now known as facebook.com throughout the world. Though it only functions within Harvard so his plan was to take it beyond.
After 4000 users registered to facebook, he felt the need of hiring new programmers. On the programmer was Darren Moskowitz. Later the Facebook service was opened to students of at Columbia University, Stanford, and Yale.
The interesting thing that attracted the users was that it was something new. The users can talk with someone online, whom they want to meet in real life.
Soon facebook was opened to all and Mark felt the need of investors. They received their first investment from PayPal, Peter Thiel, who is well known throughout Silicon Valley. They received an amount of $500,000. Then the project began to increase its speed. People started liking the concept of connecting people.

Within a year of its start, around 1million people joined the social network. So as the users started joining, the workload too started building. So they felt the need for new developers as well as investors. Accel Partners invested in Facebook an amount of $12.7 million. And then Greylock Partners added an amount $27.5 million.
The Facebook users grew rapidly and soon it hit the 50 million mark. Many large companies began to give them offers. Even Yahoo offered them an amount of $900 million dollars for Facebook. But Mark Zuckerberg refused that offer too as he had some other plans in his mind.
Allegation against Facebook
Facebook soon after its launch, was under a bunch of questions. His senior students Cameron, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra claimed that Mark Zuckerberg has stolen their idea. They claimed that, in 2003, he hired them for a project of the social network HarvardConnection.com. According to them, he hired them to work for the project but instead of providing results he used the original source code to create Facebook.
Later in that year, Narendra and the Winklevoss twins launched their own network ConnectU. But still, they continued to attack Mark complaining to the Harvard administration and The Harvard Crimson newspaper. Mark continued to explain that these allegations are not related to Facebook. Later another Harvard student – John Thomson also claimed that Zuckerberg stole his idea of facebook.
Then later, The Winklevoss twins and Narendra filed a lawsuit against Mark but the court rejected it. Then when they again filed a lawsuit, the court decided to have a look at the code sources. But still after checking nothing was sure and clear. In 2009, Mark Zuckerberg agreed to pay $45 million ($20 million in cash, and the remaining amount in Facebook shares) to ConnectU as court settlement. By the timing case was closed, ConnectU had around 100,000 users. And at the same moment, Facebook had around 150 million users.
On May 17, 2011, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss filed another lawsuit against Mark. That was the last time they made an attempt to the court to reconsider the case.

In the year 2013, the turnover of Facebook reached $7.87 billion and net income of about $1.5 billion. But an interesting thing about the company is that, its generating revenue at a lot faster rate.

On May 19 in the year 2012, Mark Zuckerberg married his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan in Palo Alto, California. Its said that they were in a relationship for a long time. Now they are living a happily married life.
On December 01, 2015 a new member entered Mark Zuckerberg’s life. And it is their daughter Maxima Chan Zuckerberg. On the birth of their newborn daughter, Mark and Priscilla wrote a letter, “Max, we love you and feel a great responsibility to leave the world a better place for you and all children,”
On August 28, 2017, Mark and Priscilla announced the birth of their second daughter. They named her August Chan Zuckerberg.
