Ava Swiss Sings America's Got Talent in Wild Hearts Can Be Broken
Entering tonight's America's Got Talent live show, it was fair to consider Ava Swiss one of the favorites for the finale.
She is a vocal singer and also has a tough story of overcoming adversity after what happened at Oxford High School.
The audition phase is when you are won over by someone thanks to their backstory - letting them know who they are.
Moving on to the next round is when you start to see how their talents reach the rest of the pack. This is where the responsibility of delivering a massive performance fell on Ava more than ever.
She performed a song by Pink in "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken" which was an unexpected choice—it's not one of her biggest hits, but you can at least say it did.
We'd say she was nervous during the first half of the performance, and we still think she needs to work on commanding the stage.
Still, there's no denying that her voice is great - it still might not be enough to get her a ticket to the next round. This results in only two people moving forward at the end of the show.
After performing, Simon gave Ava much credit for her bravery, and selected a song that was too "narrative" to accompany her as a showcase for her voice.
We think it's a tough song to execute live, and that's going to make it worth seeing him in the results or as we finally see the wild card picked up later. A total of eleven acts are going to make it to the next round.
