Denise from It's Always Sunny is starring in a movie about the rise and fall of Blackberry
Well, we didn't know this was coming: They're making a movie about the ex-mobile-titan Blackberry.
And it's going to be starring Glenn Howerton of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as the company's co-CEO, Jim Balsillie.
According to The Globe and Mail, production ends this week, though exactly when the film will hit theaters is unknown.
The film, titled Blackberry, is based on the 2015 book Losing the Signal: The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Blackberry by journalists Sean Silkoff and Jackie McNish.
According to its blurb, the book "focuses on an unlikely partnership between a visionary engineer, Mike Lazaridis.
and an abrasive Harvard Business School grad, Jim Balsillie”—two founders of Research in Motion (RIM), which later became Blackberry.
Canadian actor and comedian Jay Baruchel will play Lazaridis, but we must admit we're most excited to see Howerton as Balsillie.
After all, who better to play an "abrasive Harvard Business School grad" than Golden God?
Given the number of movies and TV shows we've seen about technology in recent years, it makes sense to tackle one of the market's biggest and most bumpy rides.
