The Citi Open in Washington, DC is an exciting opportunity to see some of the world's best tennis players take to the courts.

This year, it's also your chance to indulge in some delicious food and drink—definitely not your typical concession-stand fare.

The 2022 tournament, running from 7 August, is highlighting some of the biggest names in the local culinary scene. Of course, that means DC superstar Jose Andrés is on hand to help: He'll be making Spanish sandwiches at his Pepe food truck.

"My mindset is that it's as much a food and wine festival as a tennis tournament," Mark Ein, who manages the Citi Open, told Eater. "It really is DC's best every year, it's even more about celebrating tennis in DC and the DC community."

The DMV seafood spot will also sell fish and chips, lobster rolls, oyster po'boys and tuna tacos in the foodie headquarters Market Square.

There, you'll have even more local favorites, including dishes from Duke's Grocery (burgers), Roaming Roasters (fried chicken) and Oro Pizza, which fires up pies in a pizza oven decorated with tennis-ball patterns.

Elsewhere, chef Nicolas Stefanelli of Filotimo and Michelin-starred Masseria Sicily will serve arancini rice fritters and lasagna alla norma with eggplant and tomato basil ricotta.
