Netflix's Yu Yu Hakusho star breaks silence on becoming Yusuke
There is currently a new live-action series based on Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho now in the works for Netflix.
The main star behind Yusuke Uramashi has broken his silence about signing on for this big new adaptation.
The original anime adaptation to Togashi's hit action manga is one of the most loved action anime series of all time.
That's even more true as it celebrates its 30th anniversary, and fans have been wondering how the franchise was going to return as part of a celebration of this massive new milestone for fans.
First confirmed to be in the works in December 2020, Shueisha, Toho and Robot are working with Netflix on a new live-action series for Yu Yu Hakusho, which is being touted as an adaptation of the manga.
Kitamura is the first member of the cast to appear so far, and he broke his silence about being involved in an adaptation of such a huge franchise.
Speaking to IGN about the casting (of which Netflix ispromising we'll see more cast members add to the series in the coming weeks).
Kitamura said the following about becoming Yusuke for the new Yu Yu Hakusho series, saying the original work is a universal and unique masterpiece and one of the reasons why Japan is so proud of its strong manga and anime culture.
I'm delighted to share Yu Yu Hakusho's masterpiece with the world and I hope we can create something that people everywhere will love. It's up to us to see if it lands.
