Taron Egerton joins Netflix thriller Carry On from Black Adam director
Taron Egerton is currently winning praise for his lead role in Apple's critically acclaimed prison thriller Black Bird, one of the late Ray Liotta's final performances.
Egerton has now turned his attention to another high-profile thriller, Carry On, which will be directed by Spanish filmmaker Jaime Colette-Serra (Black Adam, The Shallows, Orphans).
Netflix and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment will produce Carry On as part of their 2021 multi-movie deal.
Batman producers, Dylan Clarke, will oversee production along with Brian Williams, Holly Barrio, Amblin's President of Production, Scott Greenberg and Seth William Meyer.
Carry On is written by TJ Fixman (Ratchet & Clank) and Michael Green (Blade Runner 2049).
Jaime Colette-Cerra is no stranger to thrillers, having directed films such as The Shallows, Orphans, and Liam Neeson's The Commuter and Run All Night.
Colette-Serra also directed the 2014 film Non-Stop, starring Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore, which focused on a plane hijacking.
Colette-Cera will next bring Dwayne Johnson's superhero Teth-Adam to the big screen this October alongside the highly anticipated Black Adam.
