There was a plan for Chris Jericho to take out a needle and tattoo CM Punk for the 2013 WWE WrestleMania 28 angle.
On the latest Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho shared an interesting story about himself and CM Punk's plans to publicize his WrestleMania 28 match in 2013.
Jericho said, "We've worked a lot over the years. We got along really well. We always had great matches and I was 'the best in the world'.
I went for a year or two and he was 'the best in the world'. So I said 'Well, that's great. We can do 'Best in the World' vs 'Best in the World match'. That was the kind of idea."
The original plan for the opening angle was to get that rolling, I was going to tattoo CM Punk. I was going to do an angle where I would knock him out and handcuff him to the ring ropes.
Take out a tattoo needle, and get my initials tattooed on his body. I would get a tattoo artist to show me how to do it and do it like CJ.
Jericho continued, "I remember pitching Vince and he was like, 'Well, who cares? He has so many tattoos. What does it matter?' I said, 'The difference is I'm getting tattooed on him.
I said, 'It's up to a tattooed person to tattoo unsolicited. It doesn't matter if you have one tattoo or 1000. It's something you always have to look at and always think about.
This is very shameful and very violative. In the end, Vince went for it. We had planned it all out and we were going to do it. I think we also had a tattoo artist there and he was supposed to show me earlier in the day.
